The Story of God

A Story of God and All of Us: A Novel Based on the Epic TV Miniseries "The Bible" - Mark Burnett, Roma Downey
This book is okay, but as novelizations go, it really isn't very novel. Or entertaining, or captivating. If what you are looking for is a story that really feels real, that makes the Bible characters step off the page and that makes you care about them and the outcomes, then there are better choices out there (not, admittedly in only one book).

Here are some of my favorites: Sarah: A Novel by Marek Halter; The Red Tent by Anita Diamente; Zipporah, Wife of Moses, also by Marek Halter, Mary, Called Magdalene by Margaret George; the Lineage of Grace series by Francine Rivers; The Robe, and The Crown both by Lloyd C. Douglas.
