I couldn't have wished for a better ending

John Scalzi has just made it onto my all-time favorite authors list.
He entertained me. He enlightened me. He educated me.
I chuckled. I chortled. I teared up. And in the end, I cheered.
in earlier posts, I shared a couple of excerpts:

. . . Which serve as examples of why I loved this. His writing is a pleasure to read, his story is timeless and carries a message, his characters are flawless (by which I don't mean that they don't have flaws).
and plenty of other people have already reviewed this better than I could. I've said all i need to say.
